Murray Ormond Vagg Scholarship
The Murray Ormond Vagg Scholarship is provided annually to students at the Faculty who specialise in classical voice. The award is for talent and need in the third year cohort. The purpose of the award is to encourage promising students who otherwise for any reason would be unable, or would struggle, to complete their studies. In addition, the award is to be made to a student who has the ability and desire to pursue a professional singing career.
The total value of the scholarship offered will be $3000.
Open and closing dates
Applications have closed for 2018 and will reopen in July 2019. Applicants can expect to receive an outcome by the end of October.
Criteria and eligibility
This scholarship is open for award to third year classical voice students enrolled in the Faculty.
Applications will be assessed by the criteria above, in addition to student's previous results attained. The Dean, on the recommendation of the relevant Head of School, will approve the recipients.
To accept this scholarship, successful recipients are required to write a letter of thanks and provide an artistic biography for the donors or trustees. On occasion recipients will be contacted to provide a progress report.
