On 27–29 September 2015, the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music hosted the inaugural Melbourne Cello Festival.
The Melbourne Cello Festival brings together cellists from Australia and around the globe to share the love for the instrument and to celebrate the music written for it.
It features performances by leading Australian and international artists as well as masterclasses, a Rising Stars showcase, a world premiere and an Orchestra of 100 Cellos.
Led by Artistic Director Alvin Wong, cello lecturer at the MCM, the Festival engaged with cellists of all levels and ages, cello enthusiasts and music lovers.

- Inbal Megiddo (New Zealand/USA)
- Howard Penny (Australia)
- Ray Wang (Hong Kong)
- Alvin Wong (Australia/Hong Kong)
